Abstract
Purpose. This study looks at responsiveness to quality-of-life indicators of social participation in people living with HIV (PLWH) groups in American health care plans and examines Ryan White Treatment Extension (RWTE) Part A Riverside and San Bernardino counties transitional grant areas (TGA) two core services (oral health and medical case management) and one supportive service (food/meal delivery) from 2016 to 2023. Specifically, this study focused on examining RWTE Part A Riverside and San Bernardino TGA to investigate the adequacy of subsequent policy strategies and how they relate to the changing conditions of HIV/AIDS.Methodology. This descriptive research examined an overview of the response of U. S. health care to HIV through the lens of the responsiveness of the quality-of-life indicator of social participation. The narrative discusses Medicare, Medicaid, Medi-Medi, the Affordable Care Act, and Ryan White. The data and trends selected are secondary. These variables were tested in the analysis of the responsiveness of quality-of-life concerns in PLWH using RWTE Part A TGA core services of oral health, medical case management, and supportive services of food bank/home-delivered meals from 2016 to 2023.
Findings. The study examined articles to explain the different themes important in HIV and the strategies recommended for the elimination of HIV for the past 20 years. The research was guided by its research questions. Measuring the RWTE Part A oral health, medical case management, and food bank/home-delivered meals was essential to understand whether the program is efficient or needs improvement. Administrators, staff, HIV clients, and RWTE Part A program staff need to examine the research and comprehend whether they can replicate the study.
Conclusions and Recommendations. This study allowed practitioners to become better informed about the disparities of treatment currently available. RWTE Part A TGA to examine whether the client’s need for services is providing them a better quality of life. It is recommended that they continue to research, increase the outreach to missing clients, be superior stewards of data management, perform a qualitative study to understand the enhanced PLWH objective quality of life, and engage their providers in the PLWH quality of life agenda.
