Abstract
Limited research has been conducted on resilience and hope and the positive impact they may have on the lives of gay, lesbian, and bisexual homeless adolescents. Previous research has focused heavily on the many dangers that may lurk in their paths. The focus of the present research was on resiliency and hope within the lives of gay, lesbian, and bisexual homeless adolescents. Participants (N= 100) included gay, lesbian, and bisexual homeless adolescents who frequented a local shelter for homeless adolescents in Los Angeles, CA. The mean age of participants was 21.4. Findings suggested that resilience and hope play an integral part in the daily lives of homeless gay, lesbian, and bisexual adolescents. The findings have implications for gay, lesbian, and bisexual homeless adolescents, adolescent homeless shelters, and future research.
