Biography
About
I am currently an Assistant Professor of Sociology. Prior to starting my career in higher education, I completed a Bachelor's of Science and Master's of Science in Criminal Justice at California State University, Long Beach, and a Ph.D. in Criminology at Simon Fraser University.
I developed a passion for quantitative, qualitative, and social network analysis research methods as a graduate student. I now teach my students how to ask difficult questions and answer them using appropriate methods. My passion for research is not restricted to higher education, either. I am currently exploring a variety of research topics that include (il)licit drug markets, organized crime and criminal networks, drug policy and regulation, and all matters related to cannabis (e.g., user populations, commercialization, and policy).
I am driven to inspire others and contribute to meaningful social change; I try to do this through my research endeavors, mentorship, and consulting services. If you'd like to collaborate or have a question you need help answering, I am here to help you any way I can. Get in touch and stay motivated!
